I thought that the lesson about legends was really cool. I really liked the Chinese Legend about P'an Gu. It was kinda gross about his sweat becoming the rain, but I thought it was cool that "his breath became the wind and his voice, the thunder." Here are some links to other cool legends:

Some of these legends are really interesting. What legends have you heard that give "explanations" for natural occurences? What do you think about these legends? Why do you think they have survived for so long that people still remember them?

- I’m excited to welcome our 7th graders to a year of explorations in world history. Our studies will range over many regions and periods of time, with a focus on the Egyptians and Medieval Period. My own history includes nine years of teaching grades 7 & 8. I have a Bachelors Degree in Middle School Social Studies & Math, a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership, and a Specialists Degree in Educational Technology, all through MIZZOU.
